A New Era of Trade Relations: The US Prepares First Deal with India.

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent reported on proposals from the partner countries of the United States aimed at avoiding American tariffs. He described these conditions as 'very good' and noted that the first deal could be made with India. Bessent did not disclose specific details but indicated that the agreement could be signed in the near future.

The Secretary emphasized that President Donald Trump will personally handle the conclusion of trade agreements with partner countries. The main goal is to achieve significant agreements more quickly. Bessent named India as one of the first countries with which a trade agreement may be reached. He also mentioned successful negotiations with Japan and other Asian countries.

President Trump imposed new tariffs on many countries after taking office. Tariffs on goods from China will take effect on July 8, unless an agreement is reached by then. The South Korean government considers the achievement of a comprehensive trade agreement with the US before early July unlikely.

Bessent noted that China's recent steps to lower tariffs on American goods indicate its desire to reduce trade tensions between the countries.
