'Klin' Drone Destroyed in Combat

According to TSN.ua: On February 10, 2025, Ukraine's 118th Separate Mechanized Brigade successfully destroyed a new Russian attack drone known as the 'Klin.' This strike occurred a mere four months after the drone was first officially presented by Russia's military-industrial complex in October 2025. The rapid neutralization of this new weapon system highlights the intense technological competition on the modern battlefield.

Capabilities of the 'Klin' Drone

The 'Klin' drone has a takeoff weight of 13.5 kg and can reach flight speeds ranging from 108 to 300 km/h. Its fuselage is 1.6 meters long with a wingspan of 1.9 meters. It is capable of operating at altitudes of up to 2 km, which provides a significant tactical advantage for reconnaissance and strike missions.

A key feature of the 'Klin' is its 5 kg warhead. The drone is equipped with two primary warhead types:

  • shaped charge (HEAT)
  • high-explosive (HE)

This dual-capability allows it to engage a variety of battlefield targets. Furthermore, the drone's endurance of over one hour of flight time makes it a persistent threat for surveillance and precision strikes.

The destruction of the 'Klin' marks a significant moment in the ongoing conflict, where unmanned systems are increasingly decisive. This event underscores the critical importance of electronic warfare and air defense capabilities in countering advanced aerial threats. For Ukraine, demonstrating the ability to intercept such newly deployed systems is a tactical and psychological victory, potentially influencing both frontline dynamics and international perceptions of the war's trajectory.
