New tranche from the IMF: how much money Ukraine will receive in 2025.
The Ukrainian government expects to receive $2.7 billion from the IMF in 2025. This was reported by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a meeting with the head of the European Department of the IMF, Alfred Kammer. According to Shmyhal, thanks to the previous six reviews of the EFF program, Ukraine has already received $9.8 billion, and the total financial support from the IMF amounts to $12.4 billion since the beginning of the war. The head of the government emphasized that cooperation with the IMF is an important factor for the financial stability of the country, and necessary reforms continue regardless of the military conflict.
The Director of the IMF Communications Department, Julia Kozak, noted that the successful completion of the seventh review could lead to the allocation of $900 million to Ukraine. The previous, sixth review of the EFF program was completed in December 2020, when the Executive Board of the IMF started disbursing a tranche of $1.1 billion.
