Russian occupiers launched aerial bombs on Kharkiv
Today, October 28, Russian occupiers conducted an airstrike on the city of Kharkiv. The House of State Industry, which is a historical landmark, was damaged. This was reported by Mayor Igor Terekhov on Telegram.
Terekhov specified that the attack took place in central Kharkiv. After the shelling, a fire started, and smoke rose. Information about the victims and destruction is currently being clarified.
As of 21:23, five people were injured as a result of the Russian strike.
Head of Kharkiv Regional State Administration Oleh Synehubov reported that the building of a medical institution and administrative buildings were damaged in the shelling of the city's central part. Currently, six victims are known.
"As a result of the shelling of the central part of the city, the building of a medical institution and administrative institutions were damaged. As of this moment, six victims are known," Synehubov reported.
The Russians also hit the House of State Industry, a monument of architecture. This 13-story skyscraper is one of three high-rise buildings in Kharkiv, built between 1925 and 1928. It is located in the historical center of the city on Freedom Square. This building was included in the State Register of Immovable Monuments of Ukraine as a national significance category.
Earlier, seven people, including a 16-year-old girl, were injured in the shelling in Kharkiv. A total of 21 people were injured during the nighttime attack on Kharkiv region, with five of them being children.
During the night, the occupiers shelled Kharkiv again. According to Mayor Terekhov, there were several explosions, and the Russians hit a multi-story building.
