According to ТСН: A significant corruption scheme has been discovered in the Russian 247th regiment: servicemen pay their commanders 50 thousand rubles (about 26 thousand hryvnias) each month for the opportunity to stay in the rear. They are officially registered in documents as participants in combat actions at the front.

This was reported by the partisan movement 'Atesh'.

'Servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces pay their commanders to avoid participating in battles in the Zaporizhzhia direction,' the movement's statement says.

According to information provided by agents of 'Atesh' from the 247th Air Assault Brigade, a group of servicemen has been created in the unit that hands over 50 thousand rubles in cash to the commander each month to avoid being sent to the front. Such soldiers remain with the headquarters or are assigned to fictitious internal tasks. Their documents are marked 'in combat', allowing the Russian occupiers to receive all payments, statuses, and bonuses without being 'in the line of fire'.

Those who do not pay their commanders are sent into assaults regardless of their condition — with injuries, after concussions, without rest or rotations.

'Paid — you stay, not paid — you fight,' Russian commanders state plainly.

It is noted that such facts are not concealed in the unit. Military personnel who have 'bribed' have separate rooms for sleeping and eating, and their names are included in the combat reports, although not one of them has been seen in the positions.

'This deception creates hatred and alienation, destroys discipline and completely kills trust in command. People risk their lives, while at the same time, someone simply pays and lives in peace,' the report from 'Atesh' states.

In addition, a journalistic investigation by Sky News has uncovered a large scheme for recruiting citizens of South Africa to participate in Russia's war against Ukraine under the pretense of training and employment as guards. Dozens of men without military experience found themselves at the front in Donbas, as they were deceived into signing contracts with the Russian army without translation.

These facts underline serious problems in the Russian armed forces, where corruption schemes continue to thrive despite real threats at the front. Such circumstances not only raise doubts about the moral state of the army but could also affect the course of combat operations in the occupied territories.
