Russian troops carried out an airstrike on a residential area of Sumy, resulting in the deaths of two people. This was stated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

After the Russian attack, residential buildings, a kindergarten, private cars, and other property were damaged. Firefighters have already extinguished the spread of the fire.

The President reported that a rescue operation is underway at the site of the shelling in Sumy. There are suspicions that there may be another person under the rubble.

«Preliminarily, the shelling was carried out from a multiple launch rocket system. Only the destruction of Russian weapons and their launchers can stop this terror. It is very important for us to be able to strike at Russian territory. This is the only thing that can limit their terror and their ability to fight», the President stated.

Let us remind you that on the night of November 22, Russia first attacked Sumy using 'Shahed' missiles, which were filled with shrapnel.

According to reports, that evening the Russian Federation launched 188 strike drones at Ukraine - this is a record number of drones used by the enemy. The President noted that about 80 drones were shot down, and more than 90 were lost.

Russian occupiers also attacked the electricity infrastructure of Ternopil. As a result of the drone attack, a fire occurred at an energy facility, and its elimination is ongoing.
