More Money for Seniors: How Pensions Will Increase in Ukraine in 2026.
Pension Increase 2026: Supplements for Older Pensioners in Ukraine
According to TSN.ua: In 2026, Ukrainian pensioners will receive higher payouts. The reason is automatic age supplements and a planned indexing of pensions in spring. The amount of the additional payment depends on the recipient's age.
These Supplements Are Planned for 2026
According to new calculations, the planned supplements are as follows:
- For pensioners aged 70–74 years: up to 300 UAH.
- For the age group 75–79 years: up to 456 UAH.
- For persons aged 80 and above: up to 570 UAH.
It is important to know: From the age of 75, the full amount of 456 UAH will not be newly added, but only 156 UAH. The basic amount of 300 UAH is already received from the age of 70.
The prerequisite for receiving these age supplements is that the total pension does not exceed 10,340.35 UAH. This threshold is based on the average salary in Ukraine from the year 2020. The system of age supplements was already introduced in 2020 and represents an important pillar of social security. It particularly helps those who have to get by with a very low basic pension.
The planned increases will therefore provide noticeable financial relief for many older people in Ukraine.
The planned pension increases demonstrate the country's efforts to improve social security in old age - especially in economically challenging times.
The age supplements that were introduced earlier are intended to help mitigate the rising cost of living and ensure a dignified standard of living in old age. Such measures are an important indicator of the development of a country's social policy.
