Ukrainian Pensioners to Receive Increased Payments in March 2026: Details on the New Supplements.
Additional Payments for Pensioners in Ukraine
According to Novyny.live: Starting in March 2026, Ukrainian pensioners will be eligible for supplementary payments based on their age, income, and personal circumstances. A portion of retirees will see their payments automatically increased as part of an initiative to improve their financial well-being.
- Pensioners aged 70–74 will receive a supplement of 300 hryvnias.
- Those aged 75–79 are set to receive an increase of 456 hryvnias.
- The largest supplement, 570 hryvnias per month, is designated for pensioners who have reached the age of 80.
However, the total pension amount, including all supplements, must not exceed 10,340.35 hryvnias.
Non-working pensioners who are supporting children or grandchildren under the age of 18 will also qualify for additional aid, receiving 150 hryvnias per child. This measure is intended to alleviate the financial burden on families where pensioners serve as the primary caregivers.
Furthermore, pensioners aged 80 and over who require personal care will be granted a monthly payment of 1,038 hryvnias. This provision is aimed at supporting elderly individuals with special care needs.
Assistance for Combat Veterans and Other Vulnerable Groups
The new measures also include additional monthly payments of 648 hryvnias for combat veterans, family members of fallen soldiers, individuals disabled as a result of the war, and those affected during the Revolution of Dignity. This reflects a commitment to supporting those who have endured significant losses due to conflict and social upheaval.
These reforms, scheduled for March 2026, are therefore poised to significantly impact the welfare of Ukrainian pensioners by providing them with extra financial resources tailored to their age, family situation, and needs. The ongoing economic challenges in Ukraine underscore the importance of such adjustments to the social safety net.
The changes to Ukraine's pension system represent a crucial step in supporting socially vulnerable population groups, particularly the elderly, who often face financial hardship. The introduction of these supplementary payments has the potential to reduce poverty levels among pensioners and enhance their quality of life.
