Pensions to be Increased from October: Who Will Receive Thousands of Hryvnias.
According to inkorr.com: Starting from October 2025, Ukrainian pensioners who turn 65 may expect an increase in their pensions to a defined state level if their payments fall below the minimum threshold. This was reported by the publication
“On Pensions”.
Minimum Pension for Individuals Over 65
According to current legislation, pensioners aged 65 and over have the right to a pension of no less than 40% of the minimum wage as specified in the state budget, or the minimum subsistence level for individuals who have lost their ability to work. In 2025, this minimum will amount to 3200 UAH. If the pension is lower, the state will compensate the difference. Starting from March 1, 2025, according to Cabinet resolution No. 209 dated February 25, 2025, the minimum pension for persons aged 65 and over, taking into account supplements, will be 3758 UAH. To receive such a payment, the following conditions must be met:
- Receive a pension for age, disability, due to loss of a breadwinner, or for length of service.
- Have insurance experience: at least 35 years for men or 30 years for women.
Age Supplements to Pensions in Ukraine
Older pensioners also have the right to automatic age supplements:
- After 70 years – up to 300 UAH.
- After 75 years – up to 456 UAH.
- After 80 years – up to 570 UAH.
These supplements are calculated automatically, without the need to apply to the Pension Fund, but only if the pension does not exceed 10,340.35 UAH. In October, supplements will be received by those who celebrated their birthday in September; the amount of payment depends on the number of days during which the pensioner reached the corresponding age.
The pension system in Ukraine is constantly being improved. In 2025, the government continues to index pensions to compensate for inflation and rising prices.
These changes are important steps in adapting the pension system to current economic realities. The increase in pensions will provide additional financial support for elderly individuals, which is critically important in the context of rising prices for goods and services.
