Putin stated readiness for dialogue with Macron: reaction from the Élysée Palace.
According to ТСН: Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov reported that Vladimir Putin "is ready for dialogue" with Emmanuel Macron. This was a positive signal for the Élysée Palace.
The statement reads: "We welcome the public endorsement of this approach by the Kremlin. In the coming days, we will make a decision on the best way to proceed."
It is noted that any negotiations with Moscow will take place "in an atmosphere of complete transparency" along with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and European partners. Their goal is to achieve a "strong and durable peace" for Ukraine.
Prospects for dialogue
Previously, the French president spoke about this at the European summit in Brussels.
He stated:
"The invasion of Ukraine and the stubbornness of President Putin have put an end to any possibility for dialogue"over the past three years. However, now, as the prospect of a ceasefire and peace talks becomes clearer, it is important to talk with Putin again.
Renewal of negotiations
Macron also emphasized the possibility of resuming negotiations with Putin against the backdrop of the failure of the U.S. peace plan.
He noted:
"Either a strong and lasting peace will be achieved with the necessary security guarantees, or in the coming weeks, we will have to find ways for Europeans to re-engage in an all-encompassing dialogue with Russia".
This situation indicates an increasing willingness for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict, which could be an important step towards restoring stability in the region. Recent statements point to the readiness of international players to take active steps in seeking ways for dialogue, which could play a crucial role in the future development of events.
