First Round of U.S.-Ukraine Talks Concludes in Miami.
Diplomatic Meeting Between U.S. and Ukrainian Officials in Miami
According to UATV: The first round of negotiations between Ukrainian and American delegations wrapped up in Miami on March 21. These discussions are part of preparations for future phases of cooperation between Ukraine and the United States. Leading the Ukrainian side were Rustem Umerov, Kyrylo Budanov, and Sergiy Kyslytsya, while Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner headed the American delegation.
Initially, a trilateral negotiation phase involving Ukraine, the U.S., and Russia was scheduled for March 10-11, but those meetings were postponed. As a result, the conclusion of this first round in Miami marks a significant step forward in sustaining diplomatic efforts.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy underscored the importance of these initiatives, stating: 'It is important for all of us in the world that diplomatic efforts continue.'
This milestone in U.S.-Ukraine relations comes amid heightened geopolitical tensions, making such engagements particularly relevant. The diplomatic push to strengthen bilateral ties could carry substantial weight for future international policy decisions, especially concerning the situation in Ukraine.
Observers note that meetings like these may advance not only economic collaboration but also reinforce security guarantees for Ukraine.
