ISW: Putin Preparing New Attack Even After Possible Ceasefire.
According to ТСН: Despite claims of readiness for negotiations, Moscow has not abandoned its plans for the complete destruction of Ukrainian statehood. The Kremlin views any 'ceasefire' merely as a lull before a new attack.
This information is outlined in a report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
Trap of 'Temporary Compromise'
Experts do not rule out the possibility that Putin may agree to certain concessions that he views as temporary. Analysts warn that the dictator may sign a peace agreement, but his relentless attachment to initial goals suggests that he will not be satisfied with such an outcome.
Most likely, Moscow will use the 'ceasefire' to regroup its forces, later violating the agreements and continuing aggression with the aim of full occupation of Ukraine.
USA's Plan Against Kremlin Ultimatum
The report emphasizes that the proposed 'peace plan' by the USA is categorically unacceptable to Putin.
USA's Proposal: Freezing the conflict on the current front line (particularly in the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions).
Putin's Demand: Complete withdrawal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from four Ukrainian regions and refusal to join NATO.
The demands of the Kremlin effectively mean the capitulation of Ukraine, its disarmament ('demilitarization'), and a change of power to pro-Russian.
Lie About 'Victories'
To strengthen his position in potential negotiations, Putin resorts to outright lies about the situation on the front. ISW noted that the dictator exaggerates the successes of his army and claims to have captured settlements (for example, Siversk or parts of Lyman) that are actually controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Analysis of the situation allows us to draw a definitive conclusion: an agreement with the Russian Federation without reliable security guarantees for Ukraine will not bring lasting peace.
It is noteworthy that US intelligence has denied information about possible plans by Putin to seize all of Ukraine. The head of US national intelligence quickly reacted to this information, stating it was an attempt to disrupt US peace initiatives.
Therefore, the situation regarding peace negotiations remains quite tense. Moscow continues to demonstrate intransigence, and thus the international community must be cautious in its assessments of possible compromises with the Kremlin. In such a context, it is important to maintain clarity and determination in defending Ukraine's sovereignty.
