Southern cyclone brings storm, sleet and sharp temperature contrasts to Ukraine.
According to ТСН: On Thursday, significant deterioration of weather conditions is expected in Ukraine due to an active southern cyclone. Forecasters promise heavy precipitation, stormy winds, and significant temperature fluctuations – from -7 to +14 degrees Celsius.
This was reported by meteorologist Natalia Didenko on her Telegram.
She emphasized that the weather could cause difficulties for utility services and complications on the roads.
Weather forecast by region
According to the forecast, temperature and precipitation in Ukraine will vary depending on the region. The west is expected to see snowfall, while the north of the country and Vinnytsia predict wet snow, and other regions will have rain. Forecasters warn of possible intense precipitation, wet snow sticking, ice, and strengthening winds to a strong level.
Temperature fluctuations
The temperature regime on Thursday will show significant variations. In western Ukraine, frost is expected – from -3 to -7 degrees Celsius. In the northern regions, temperatures will fluctuate from -2 to +3 degrees Celsius, in the center – from -2 to +6 degrees Celsius. The east will experience temperatures of +3 to +6 degrees Celsius, while in the south, the warmest weather is expected – up to +7 to +14 degrees Celsius.
Weather in Kyiv
In Kyiv, on January 8, wet snow is forecasted, which may occasionally turn into rain. Intense precipitation and strong northeastern winds are anticipated. The temperature at night will be -4 degrees Celsius, and during the day it will fluctuate from -1 to +1 degree Celsius.
According to Natalia Didenko, such active atmospheric processes can affect well-being. She also noted that cooling is expected in Ukraine after January 9.
It is also worth noting that strong snowstorms and ice recently affected other European countries, causing serious problems in the transport sector and leading to the deaths of at least six people.
The situation with weather conditions may pose a serious challenge for the population and infrastructure of Ukraine. Ukrainians should be prepared for changes, closely monitor the news, and follow safety recommendations on the roads.
