UAF disrupted the Russian plan: how they did not allow the occupiers to cut off the Donetsk region

According to ТСН: The defense forces of Ukraine stopped the attempt of Russian troops to cut off the entire Donetsk region during the offensive in the Dobropillia direction.

Comment from the Commander of the Air Assault Forces

This was stated by the Commander of the Air Assault Forces of the UAF, Oleg Apostol, during a telethon.

“The enemy's plans were: to break through from the Dobropillia direction to Barvinkove and completely cut off the Donetsk region. Now their appetites have slightly decreased, now they are trying to enter Dobropillia. From both sides, the marine infantry (of the Russian Federation — ed.) is supposed to enter, from east to west, and the 76th division,” he noted.

Actions of the UAF

The commander added that, thanks to timely decisions from the higher leadership, the Air Assault Forces and other units of the assault troops were engaged.

“As you can see, the leadership made the right decision. We used the Air Assault Forces — these are my brigades, and assault troops, certain of their units. We stopped the enemy in the place where they tried to wedge in. In one ravine, 74 enemies were destroyed, and in a small settlement, 53 people were taken prisoner. We also suffered significant losses among the marine infantry in interaction with the National Guard's corps, with the units of which we operated in this area,” he emphasized.

Apostol also noted that during the battles, the Russian marine infantry, relocated to this direction, including units that arrived from the Sumy region, suffered heavy losses.

“Through our actions, we did not allow the enemy to reach Barvinkove, and thus cut off the entire Donetsk region, as they planned. We also destroyed the marine infantry (of the Russian Federation), including those units that arrived from the Sumy region: the 177th, 40th, 155th, 336th — all of them participated in the battles,” he summarized.

Current situation at the front

The head of the communication unit of the 79th Air Assault Brigade, Roman Pisarenko, noted that fierce battles are ongoing near Myrnohrad in Donetsk. The Russian command has pulled significant forces to this front. The military reported that in the area of responsibility of the 79th brigade, the occupiers can advance “by meters or tens of meters” only through the so-called “gray” zone.

The situation at the front remains tense, and events are developing rapidly. The enemy's offensive actions highlight the importance of maintaining control over key territories, which is critical for the defense of Ukraine.
