Meeting of Zelensky with representatives of scouting organizations and the transfer of the Bethlehem Flame of Peace
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky attended a meeting with representatives of scouting organizations who presented him with the Bethlehem Flame of Peace. He expressed his gratitude and congratulated them on the upcoming Christmas. This was reported by the President's Office.
Among those present were members of the youth organization 'Plast - National Scout Organization of Ukraine', the all-Ukrainian youth public organization 'National Organization of Scouts of Ukraine', and the public organization 'Association of Guides of Ukraine'.
The children explained that they help young people in frontline regions and maintain contact with little Ukrainians abroad. In addition, the scouts support our wounded soldiers. More than one and a half thousand members of the organization 'Plast - National Scout Organization of Ukraine' also joined the Defense Forces.
They will later deliver the Bethlehem Flame of Peace to the front and hand it over to the Ukrainian defenders.
Earlier, the 'Scouts' brought the Bethlehem Flame of Peace to Kyiv. This year's transfer ceremony took place in a shelter.
Also, the head of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Metropolitan Epiphanius, and Pope Francis met in the Vatican, where they exchanged gifts.
Let us remind you that on Sunday, December 8, Pope Francis called for a ceasefire on all fronts in the world, including Ukraine, by Christmas.
