Applying for a Pension from Home

According to TSN.ua: Ukrainians can now submit pension applications remotely through the official web portal of the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU). This new feature streamlines the process of securing retirement benefits, allowing citizens to handle all necessary paperwork online without visiting a physical office.

What You Need to Submit an Application

To apply for a pension, you must prepare several documents. These include:

  • Ukrainian passport,
  • tax identification number,
  • employment record book or other proof of insurance history,
  • educational certificates,
  • military ID,
  • marriage certificate (for women who have changed their surname),
  • children's birth certificates,
  • salary statement for 60 months prior to June 30, 2000,
  • bank account details,
  • other supporting documents.

All electronic submissions must be in PDF or JPG format and cannot exceed 1 MB per file. Applications can be signed using a qualified electronic signature (QES) or the "Diia.Signature" service, further simplifying the process.

This new service saves Ukrainians time and effort by eliminating the need to visit Pension Fund branches for document submission.

The introduction of online pension applications marks a significant step forward in the digital transformation of government services in Ukraine.

Beyond making life easier for citizens, this innovation is expected to reduce the workload on Pension Fund offices, boosting overall efficiency. Since pension payments are a lifeline for many Ukrainians, the ability to handle applications remotely will greatly benefit current retirees and those approaching retirement age.
