Tax officials hid 5 cars worth 7 million: She has been accused.
According to ТСН: The law enforcement authorities have raised suspicions of false information in the electronic declaration against the official of the State Tax Service in the Cherkasy region. She has hidden at least five cars with a total value exceeding 7 million hryvnias.
This was reported by the National Police of Ukraine.
Evidence of the offense
Operative employees of the Department of Strategic Investigations in the Cherkasy region, along with investigators from the State Bureau of Investigations, have collected materials on the basis of which the suspicion against the senior official was justified.
Undeclared property
According to the investigation, the official did not declare property belonging to her husband in her income declaration for 2022. Among the undeclared items are a BMW X5, two Toyota Land Cruiser 200, as well as a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and MAN TGX truck.
Criminal liability
The woman has been suspected under Article 2, Section 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - for declaring false information. Under this article, the punishment may be up to two years of imprisonment, as well as the deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years.
Cooperation with other authorities
The collection of evidence was carried out in cooperation with the National Agency for Corruption Prevention, while the procedural leadership in the case is ensured by the Prosecutor's Office of the Cherkasy region.
Tendency among top officials
We remind that Ukrainian top officials often “forget” to declare their elite property, cash, and assets. In the fall of 2025, the NAPK identified violations worth almost 430 million hryvnias in each of the 108 examined declarations, which represents one of the largest results in the history of electronic declaration.
This case underscores the problem of income and asset transparency among public service providers and leads to the consideration of improving the declaration control system. As practice shows, cases of non-declaration are becoming increasingly common, and society expects measures that will force officials to comply with the law.
