Polish publication fired journalist for offensive comparison of the president to a 'boss'.
The Polish publication Obserwator Międzynarodowy announced that it has dismissed its deputy editor-in-chief Vitaliy Mazurenko, who compared President Karol Nawrocki to a 'boss'. This was reported by 'Glavkom', referring to Obserwator Międzynarodowy.
According to inkorr.com: During a broadcast on Polsat News, Mazurenko expressed an ambiguous opinion about the Polish president. In particular, he compared Nawrocki's rhetoric and behavior to that of a 'boss', a term that in criminal slang means the leader of a crime gang or an authoritative criminal.
The editorial board suspended the journalist for insulting the president
'The Obserwator Międzynarodowy editorial team wants to clearly emphasize that this was the private opinion of this individual, expressed without the knowledge and consent of the editorial board. It in no way reflects the position of our editorial team and does not correspond to the values that guide us,' the Polish media reported.
The media noted that a decision was made to immediately terminate cooperation with Mazurenko and to deprive him of his position as deputy editor-in-chief. 'As a Polish portal, we categorically do not accept and do not tolerate undermining the authority of the office of the President of the Republic of Poland. Our values are based on honest journalism, responsibility for words, and full respect for the institutions of the Polish state and their representatives,' the editorial statement said.
Thus, the Polish publication Obserwator Międzynarodowy decided to fire Vitaliy Mazurenko from his position as deputy editor-in-chief due to his offensive comments about President Karol Nawrocki. The editorial board emphasized its commitment to upholding the standards of honest journalism and respect for government representatives.
