Putin Will Destroy Trump's Peace Plan: Portnikov's Forecast for Ukraine.

According to ТСН: The Russian leader Putin can effortlessly create conditions under which the peace plan of Donald Trump's administration becomes irrelevant.

This opinion was expressed by journalist Vitaliy Portnikov on the air of the Espreso TV channel.

According to him, European leaders are trying to influence the current president of the USA during discussions of his peace initiative.

“If European leaders are talking to Trump about the peace plan proposed by the United States, then I am convinced that most of the people Trump trusts — Macron, Starmer, possibly less Merz — are telling him that this plan is genius, but some points are not as genius as others. They are forcing Trump to pay attention to specific details, and when he does, his reaction is often negative,” explained the journalist.

Portnikov emphasized that the main problem of the US president lies in his misunderstanding of his own decisions.

“He needs to understand what he is doing. The main problem of this person is that he is completely unaware that he is entrusted with the responsibility of being the president of the USA,” he noted.

At the same time, according to Portnikov, Ukraine should remain calm and continue consultations with the American administration, showing readiness to discuss the peace plan.

“Ukraine does not need to do anything. Putin will decide everything for us. He will calmly create conditions under which this plan will simply collapse into dust. He is already doing this,” emphasized Portnikov.

The journalist also noted that it is important for Kyiv to be as flexible as possible.

“We need to lean towards agreements with Trump, flatter him, remember that we are dealing with a person who is not quite mentally stable, and talk about how genius this plan is, indicating that we are ready to discuss it further. In the meantime, Putin will simply crush Trump and decide everything for us,” he added.

It was previously reported that the current rounds of American pressure and negotiations regarding Ukraine have become the most serious of all previous ones; however, the Kremlin is unlikely to be ready for real concessions until late winter.

It is also known that US President Donald Trump stated that he set no deadlines for reaching a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia.

The situation surrounding the peace process remains tense. Against the backdrop of activated international negotiations, it is important for Ukraine to wait and respond to changes occurring in diplomatic relations between world leaders. Strategies to influence the US president require the same flexibility and quick reaction as the situation at the front.
