According to Korrespondent.net: In Zhytomyr, in the evening of October 2, a fire broke out in the dormitory of the medical institute, resulting in students being poisoned by carbon monoxide. This event was reported by the head of the Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration, Vitaliy Bunechko, on his Telegram channel.

According to him, the fire occurred at 20:32 in one of the rooms of the five-story dormitory. Emergency service employees quickly arrived at the scene and localized and extinguished the fire.

Injured and evacuation

As a result of the fire, four students were poisoned by combustion products. They received medical assistance at the scene. No other individuals were injured. An evacuation to other places of residence will be organized if necessary for nearly 400 residents of the dormitory, among whom are students and internally displaced persons.

Conditions for the affected

Near the dormitory where the fire occurred, rescuers quickly set up tents for heating. This is a place where people can warm up while organizational issues are being resolved, said Vitaliy Bunechko.

He also reported that places for the accommodation of residents of the affected premises have already been determined. The students moved to a new sleeping location.

Earlier, a large fire occurred in a high-rise building in Kyiv. This demonstrated serious risks arising from fire hazards in cities.

It is reminded that in Zhytomyr, on the eastern outskirts, on July 2, a powerful explosion occurred at a gas station. As a result, houses and cars caught fire, roads and neighboring buildings were damaged. At least two people died, more than 15 were injured.
