The President awarded an honorary title to the brigade 'Velykyi Luh'
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky awarded an honorary title to the 65th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This is stated in the corresponding decree No. 861/2024, which was published on the official website of the head of state.
According to the decree, the president bestowed the honorary title 'Velykyi Luh' upon the 65th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and it will now be referred to as the 65th Separate Mechanized Brigade 'Velykyi Luh' of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
At the president's directive, the decision was made to restore historical traditions of the national army and to consider the exemplary performance of tasks in the defense of territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine.
Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a resolution on the introduction of a mechanism for transfers between military units at the initiative of servicemen. President Volodymyr Zelensky noted that this mechanism was developed in collaboration with civil society, the Ministry of Defense, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and an application 'Army+' was created for its implementation.
It is worth noting that earlier servicemen faced difficulties in voluntary transfers between military units. In July, a petition was registered on the website of the Office of the President, which required regulation of this procedure, which had been virtually impossible. However, support from the relevant authorities was not received.
The 'Army+' application allows for the creation of reports. With this application, servicemen can draft, sign, send, and track submissions of electronic reports. The Ministry of Defense published a video explaining how to use the application.
