The government launches the program '3000 km across Ukraine': how to get free tickets

According to ТСН: The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to launch a new social program '3000 km across Ukraine'. The initiative will begin in a test mode and will allow residents of frontline areas and their families to travel by train for free. Within the framework of the program, up to 3000 bonus kilometers can be used.

The aim of the program is to enable families to visit relatives living near the front line or to help residents of frontline communities move to safer regions for the winter period.

Program '3000 km across Ukraine': how to buy tickets

In the first phase, starting in December, the program will cover trains to all frontline regions. Users will be able to get up to four journeys over a total distance of 3000 km, which symbolizes the longest route of 'Ukrzaliznytsia' (Zaporizhzhia - Uzhhorod and back).

'The program will allow the use of 3000 km of trips during off-peak periods when there are free seats. These will be offered by 'Ukrzaliznytsia' specifically in the platzkart, coupe, regional trains, and 2nd class intercity,' reports 'Ukrzaliznytsia'.

The program will be available starting December 3 at 10:00. To take advantage of the offer, you need to:

  1. Update or install the 'Ukrzaliznytsia' app.

  2. Verify your account using 'Diia.Signature'.

  3. Find the '3000' marker, click 'Participate' and receive bonus kilometers.

  4. Select trains marked '3000' when booking; kilometers will be deducted automatically.

The first trips under this program can be made starting December 5.

In the future, during off-peak periods, 'Ukrzaliznytsia' will offer about 250,000 seats per month to encourage travel among those Ukrainians for whom affordable prices are a decisive factor, not travel time, in order to somewhat relieve the peak periods,' the company noted.

Earlier, 'Ukrzaliznytsia' launched the 'UZ-3000' program, within which it will offer up to one million free seats to promote domestic tourism in the low season and support vulnerable populations.

President Volodymyr Zelensky has also announced the launch of a special transportation support program 'UZ-3000', which will provide free train travel for all Ukrainians over a distance of 3000 km across the country's territory.

The implementation of the program '3000 km across Ukraine' is an important step in supporting residents of frontline territories who find themselves in difficult conditions. It will allow them not only to visit relatives freely but also significantly ease the move to safer regions. This initiative is expected to help take another step towards restoring social activity in the affected regions of the country.
