Ukraine's 'eYasla' Childcare Subsidy Program Now Provides Monthly Payments to Parents.
Payments Under the 'eYasla' Program
According to TSN.ua: Ukraine has launched payments for its new 'eYasla' program, which provides parents with 8,000 Ukrainian hryvnias (UAH) per month when they return to work after their child turns one year old. The program was introduced on January 1, 2023, and is now active for 1,370 initial recipients. This initiative is part of a broader effort to support families and encourage workforce participation following parental leave.
Monthly payments under 'eYasla' are set at 8,000 UAH for parents who decide to resume employment. For families with children who have disabilities, the payment amount increases to 12,000 UAH. Previously, the monthly childcare benefit for a child under one year was 7,000 UAH. It is noted that over 46,000 families received assistance for children under the age of one.
Applying for the Benefit
To apply for the assistance, parents need to provide several documents:
- passport
- tax identification number
- child's birth certificate
- official order confirming return to work
Ukraine's Minister of Economy, Yuliia Svyrydenko, stated: 'Payments of the 'child benefit' have begun.'
She also emphasized that 'receiving childcare assistance should be as simple, clear, and convenient as possible for families.'
It is also worth noting that payments continue for pregnancy and childbirth-related assistance, and a one-time payment of 50,000 UAH is provided upon the birth of a child. These measures are designed to support families and encourage parents to return to work by providing financial support during this important period.
The 'eYasla' program represents a significant step in supporting Ukrainian families, as it not only enhances the financial stability of parents but also incentivizes their return to the labor market.
