The Verkhovna Rada Supported the Law on Free Transfer of Land for Those Affected by Hostilities

According to the Chair of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on State Governance, Local Self-Government, Regional Development and Urban Planning Olena Shuliak, the bill No. 13174 was supported in the first reading, which provides for the free transfer of land plots without land auctions for those whose property was destroyed as a result of hostilities. This law was voted for by 254 Members of Parliament.

This bill will allow citizens to receive land plots of state or communal ownership free of charge for ownership or use without conducting land auctions in cases where their property was destroyed as a result of hostilities. The law also provides for the possibility of transferring land without conducting an auction during martial law and for 5 years after its termination, as well as the cancellation of the necessity for urban planning documentation in cases where the designated purpose of the plot does not change.

The law also addresses the issues of people who lost their homes as a result of hostilities and, along with them, lost the opportunity to register land plots.

The adoption of this law is an important step in addressing the problems of citizens affected by hostilities. The new regulatory framework will simplify the process of compensation for damages and help people who lost their property as a result of conflicts in the territory of Ukraine.
