NYT: Russia is advancing on the front, but the onset of winter may change the situation.
According to ТСН: In recent months, the situation on the front has not pleased Ukraine: Russian troops have intensified their offensive in several directions.
Occupants' Successes
American journalists report that in recent weeks, the enemy has achieved some successes. In particular, they are close to capturing Pokrovsk and have practically surrounded Myrnohrad. Significant progress is also observed in the southern part of Zaporizhzhia.
Kremlin's False Narrative
The Kremlin is more actively spreading false claims about the inevitable victory of Russia, trying to create the impression that Ukraine and its Western partners need to urgently agree to Russian demands.
Increased Shelling
The Ukrainian Armed Forces acknowledge that shelling from the enemy has become more intense. Oleg Voitsekhovskyi, a captain from a unit stationed near Lyman, reported that Russian troops are constantly attacking:
“constantly and in all directions”.
Increasing Combat Activity
He also noted:
“Drone strikes, shelling – it never stops. In the last two months, there has been a noticeable increase in the intensity of hostilities”.
Winter Predictions
Journalists believe that with the arrival of winter, the pace of the Russian offensive on a broad front may slow down, and the movement of Ukrainian troops may become more complicated. The predominance of drones forces Ukrainian forces to avoid mass infantry attacks. However, it is emphasized that Russia still has a large reserve of soldiers.
Possibility of Ending the War
It is worth noting that the former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukraine's ambassador to the UK Valerii Zaluzhnyi, noted that Russia's war against Ukraine could end even without a victory or defeat for either side.
The growing tension on the front raises concerns not only among the military but also in the public. The intensity of hostilities and the activation of Russian forces indicate a prolonged and complicated situation that requires careful monitoring by Ukrainian military and international partners. At the same time, the possibility of ending the conflict without a clear advantage for either side leaves room for diplomatic efforts in the future.
