A record number of drones were launched by Russia against Ukraine

Starting from December 12, Russia attacked Ukraine with various missiles and drones. The total number of attack means amounted to 287 units, including 94 missiles and 193 drones. This information was reported by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Here are the targets that were attacked:

  • Four aeroballistic missiles X-47M2 'Kinzhal' MiG-31K, launch site - Tambov region;
  • Two ballistic missiles 'Iskander-M', launch site - Bryansk region, Crimea;
  • One ballistic missile KN-23, launch site - Bryansk region;
  • 55 cruise missiles X-101, X-55SM from Tu-95MS, launch site - Volgograd region;
  • 24 cruise missiles 'Caliber', Black Sea region;
  • Seven cruise missiles 'Iskander-K', launch sites - Voronezh and Rostov regions;
  • One guided air missile X-59/X-69, airspace over Luhansk region;
  • 193 strike drones of the Shahed type and undetermined type drones - Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Orel, Bryansk, Millerovo - Russia.

Thanks to the actions of Ukrainian air defense forces, aviation, electronic warfare units, and the Defense Forces of Ukraine, the strike was repelled. In particular, F-16s played an important role.

It was also confirmed that:

  • 80 cruise missiles X-101/X-55SM/Caliber/Iskander-K;
  • 1 ballistic missile 'Iskander-M';
  • 80 drones of the Shahed type and undetermined type drones.

Moreover, 105 drones failed to reach their targets due to the intervention of the Defense Forces - five returned to Russia, one to Belarus.

Thus, Russia set a new record by launching 188 drones on November 26.

Volodymyr Zelensky held the first meeting of the technological meeting

Today, December 13, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held the first meeting of the technological meeting. He announced this on Telegram.

The meeting is a special format for implementing innovations in the defense sector. Scientists, weapon manufacturers, and technology developers for the Defense Forces of Ukraine participate in it. Zelensky emphasized that the first meeting was dedicated to the protection of airspace and countering missiles and drones.

The President of Ukraine discussed the massive attack of Russia with the President of Finland

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with President of Finland Alexander Stubb to discuss the consequences of the morning's massive attack of Russia on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Zelensky announced this on Telegram.

He stressed that this attack underscored the need to strengthen Ukraine's air defense capabilities. Zelensky also expressed gratitude to President Stubb and the Finnish people for their support of Ukraine.

The President also expressed gratitude to Finland for its readiness to strengthen Ukraine's air defense.

The most massive attack on Prykarpattia since the start of the war

Ivano-Frankivsk region has faced the most massive attack by Russia since the beginning of the war. This was reported by the head of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration, Svitlana Onyshchuk.

The enemy used drones and cruise missiles to attack critical infrastructure during the initial phases of the attack. Fortunately, there were no explosions. Special services and military are working to eliminate the consequences of the attack.

Blinken made an unannounced visit to Iraq

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken made an unannounced visit to Iraq, where he met with Prime Minister Muhammad Al-Sudani. The main topic of discussion was the situation in Syria.

Blinken also visited the U.S. embassy in Baghdad, where he stated that he discussed with Al-Sudani the future of Syria. He emphasized the need to create an inclusive non-sectarian government and to protect religious minorities. He also noted that Syria should not become a platform for terrorism.
