Civilian Bus Targeted in Attack
According to TSN.ua: A Russian army drone strike on a civilian bus on February 1 killed 12 people and injured at least 16 others. DTEK CEO Maksym Tymchenko confirmed the casualties, stating the attack was carried out by Russian drones. This incident represents one of the most significant single losses for the Ukrainian energy company DTEK since the full-scale invasion began. The ongoing conflict has seen civilian infrastructure, including energy facilities, become frequent targets.
This attack on the bus is the largest single-incident loss of life for DTEK since the start of the full-scale invasion. Oleksiy Kuleba, Ukraine's Minister for Communities and Territories Development, also reported on other attacks against civilians, noting that a Russian strike on a passenger train on January 27 killed six people.
I offer my sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of the deceased.

Deepening Humanitarian Crisis in Ukraine
This event is another stark indicator of the severe and ongoing humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, highlighting the increasing dangers faced by the civilian population. Attacks on civilian objects like buses and trains have caused deep concern within the international community, signaling an urgent need to address humanitarian needs and protect non-combatants. In light of recent events, it remains critical to continue monitoring the situation and support efforts to provide aid to the victims.
