Strike on Chernivtsi Region
According to TSN.ua: In an overnight assault, Russian military forces launched a combined attack on the Chernivtsi region, deploying 11 drones and four Kalibr-type cruise missiles. The primary targets were energy infrastructure facilities located in the Dnistrovskyi district. This attack is part of a wider Russian campaign to degrade Ukraine's critical civilian infrastructure.
According to Ruslan Osypenko, the situation in Bukovyna is 'fully under control.' He confirmed that the energy infrastructure was the main focus of the strike. Crucially, there were no reported casualties or injuries from the attack, and all essential life-support systems in the region are functioning normally.
Regional Situation
This incident underscores the ongoing volatility in the area and the persistent threat to Ukraine's power grid. The successful air defense operation, which prevented significant destruction and civilian losses, highlights the critical role of sustained support for Ukraine's defensive capabilities. While the immediate situation is contained, the risks to regional stability remain severe.
