Kyiv Targeted in Overnight Russian Missile and Drone Assault.
March 7th Attack on Kyiv
According to TSN.ua: In the early hours of March 7th, Russian military forces launched a combined attack on Kyiv using drones and missiles. The assault impacted several districts of the capital, though preliminary reports indicate there were no civilian casualties. This latest strike is part of a broader pattern of attacks on Ukrainian cities since the full-scale invasion began in February 2022.
In the Holosiivskyi district, falling debris caused a fire and smoke at a non-residential site, which emergency services subsequently extinguished. A missile fragment was discovered on a roadway in the Desnianskyi district, while debris from aerial targets was found at three separate locations in the Dniprovskyi district.
Mayor Vitali Klitschko provided this update.
Air Raid Alarms and Official Response
This attack underscores the ongoing and severe threat from Russia, a conflict that has persisted since Russia's initial incursion into Ukraine in 2014. The incident demonstrates that despite Ukraine's defensive efforts to protect its civilian population, the danger remains acute.
The rapid response by city authorities and rescue services highlights their continued preparedness to manage such critical incidents.
