The authorities of the Kursk region of Russia have announced the mandatory evacuation of the entire Glushkovsky district bordering Ukraine due to the deterioration of the security situation. This was announced by the acting governor of the Kursk region, Alexei Smirnov.

By the decision of the regional operational headquarters, the coordination of the evacuation process is entrusted to the security forces, the local administration, and the volunteers of the Kursk center 'Patriot'.

'Dear compatriots, please understand the current situation and follow all recommendations from the security forces and local authorities,' wrote Smirnov.

Glushkovsky district is located in the southwestern part of the Kursk region, bordering the Sudzhansky district. The administrative center is the village of Glushkovo, which is located 10 km from the border with Ukraine and 150 km from Kursk.

The Kursk region has already evacuated residents of the Sudzhansky, Glushkovsky, Rylsky, and Korenevsky districts. All of them border Ukraine.

Recall that the Ministry of Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories opened a round-the-clock hotline for residents of the Kursk region who need humanitarian assistance or want to evacuate to Ukraine.

As reported, on August 14, President Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting on the situation in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation. Among other things, the creation of military commandant's offices, if necessary, was discussed.

Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets said that the creation of military commandant's offices in the Kursk region is necessary, in particular, to provide humanitarian assistance to local residents.
