Attacks on Kharkiv
According to TSN.ua: On March 2, 2023, a Russian military strike hit an apartment building in Kharkiv, resulting in civilian casualties, including a child. Local officials have confirmed that people were injured in the attack. Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov stated:
“A multi-story residential building was hit. We have confirmed there are casualties.” - Ihor Terekhov
This incident follows another attack the previous day, March 1, when Russian forces struck a dormitory in Kharkiv. That assault caused three women, aged 75, 53, and 69, to suffer acute stress reactions. Medical personnel also provided aid to a 10-year-old girl who experienced severe psychological trauma, as reported by regional head Oleh Syniehubov. The situation in the area remains highly volatile.
Humanitarian Impact
These events underscore the ongoing terror in Ukraine caused by the relentless targeting of civilian infrastructure, which continues to claim lives and inflict suffering on non-combatants. As the conflict persists, it is crucial for the international community to recognize the severe humanitarian consequences of these assaults and support efforts to protect civilians. The war has seen a pattern of such strikes on residential areas far from the front lines.
