Proposal from Russia for journalists

According to inkorr.com: Journalist from the German publication Bild Julian Röpcke received an invitation from Russia to visit temporarily occupied Ukrainian cities Kupiansk and Pokrovsk. This proposal was made on behalf of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin through a producer from the Russian 'first channel' to show the situation on the ground.

The invitation also stated that a temporary ceasefire could be arranged in the areas of Pokrovsk and Kupiansk for the safe movement of foreign journalists. However, Julian Röpcke declined this offer and shared his thoughts on social media.

“Russian state television invites me to Pokrovsk. I don't think so. But well! I wish you a good time, pro-Kremlin mouthpieces,” the journalist noted.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation stated its readiness to suspend hostilities for a certain period in the areas where fighting is ongoing with Ukrainian forces in Pokrovsk, Myrnohrad, and Kupiansk. The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine General Oleksandr Syrskyi confirmed that the situation in these areas is complex but refuted the claims of Russian propaganda about a blockade.

Counteroffensive near Pokrovsk

Journalist from The Economist Oliver Carroll reported that the Defense Forces of Ukraine are conducting a counteroffensive near Pokrovsk in Donetsk region to restore logistics routes. According to military intelligence, a helicopter drop is taking place in areas controlled by Russia.

Despite the Russian side's proposals for foreign journalists to visit occupied cities 'to familiarize themselves with the situation', global media continue to actively cover events in conflict zones where the war continues. The Ukrainian side is actively working to regain control over territories that have come under Russian aggression.
