Russia Launches Major Missile Barrage on Ukraine: Key Details of the January 24th Assault.
Widespread Strikes Across Ukraine
According to TSN.ua: In the early hours of January 24, Russia launched a large-scale assault on Ukraine, employing a mix of ballistic and cruise missiles alongside attack drones. The majority of the unmanned aerial vehicles were tracked over the regions of Kharkiv and Kyiv. Missile launches were also detected targeting the Kyiv region, including the capital city, as well as the towns of Borodianka and Vyshhorod.
Additional missile launches were directed at the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions. The attack notably involved the use of the 'Zircon' anti-ship hypersonic cruise missile. This latest barrage appears to have primarily targeted Ukraine's critical and energy infrastructure, a recurring tactic in the conflict. These coordinated strikes represent one of the most significant aerial attacks in recent weeks.
Conflict Intensifies
This assault underscores the ongoing escalation of the war, highlighting persistent threats to civilian areas and essential services. In response to such attacks, Ukrainian forces continue to bolster their air defenses and work to enhance security for their citizens amidst the sustained campaign.
