Notably, an 11-year-old boy is in critical condition, while a 6-year-old boy sustained injuries but is now in satisfactory condition.

The attack damaged 19 apartment buildings. The missile used in the assault, identified as an 'Izdeliye-30', carries an 800-kilogram warhead.

“The 'Izdeliye-30' missile has an 800-kilogram warhead. This is precisely why we are seeing such significant destruction,” stated Yuriy Larin.

Massive Assault and Aftermath

This strike was part of a larger barrage against Ukraine, which involved the launch of 29 missiles and 480 drones. According to Oleh Syniehubov, four wounded individuals, including the critically injured 11-year-old boy, were hospitalized; the boy suffered severe trauma and remains in intensive care.

In response to the tragedy, March 9th was declared a Day of Mourning. “An eighth-grade student from Lyceum No. 16 also perished alongside her mother,” reported Ihor Terekhov. This incident underscores the horrific human cost of the war and its devastating impact on civilians. The ongoing conflict continues to inflict immense suffering on Ukraine's civilian population.

The attack on Kharkiv is part of the protracted armed conflict in Ukraine, which has led to widespread infrastructure damage and civilian casualties from heavy artillery and other weaponry. The declaration of a Day of Mourning serves to honor the memory of the deceased and express solidarity with the victims' families.
