New mobilization in Melitopol: who will be forcibly conscripted into the Russian army.
According to inkorr.com: Russia is preparing a new mobilization in Melitopol, scheduled before the autumn conscription of 2025. This is reported by the portal 'Glavkom'. The occupying authorities plan to take measures for the forced recruitment of local residents into military structures and medical commissions.
Violation of international law
According to the Center for Countering Disinformation, such actions represent a serious violation of international humanitarian law and are an attempt to forcibly involve Ukrainians in military actions against their own country.
'The forced involvement of the population from temporarily occupied territories into the Russian army is a gross violation of international law and is a war crime. The promises from the Kremlin to those people are just empty words,' the statement reads.
Propaganda and resource exploitation
Experts note that Russian propaganda presents its actions as care for the locals but actually uses Ukrainians for its military purposes.
Men who have acquired Russian citizenship or provided their data to the occupiers are now at risk of mobilization. The main way to avoid conscription is to leave for territory controlled by Ukraine or change place of residence, as well as bypass checkpoints and cross the border.
Therefore, the new mobilization in Melitopol before the autumn conscription poses a serious threat to the local population. Experts emphasize that such actions violate international law and indicate the intention of the occupying authorities to involve Ukrainians in a war against their country.
