The Russians advanced near Toretsk, Pokrovsk and Kurakhove – ISW maps.

According to analysts from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), the occupiers managed to advance closer to Toretsk, Pokrovsk, and Kurakhove.

The situation in Donetsk region

On January 19 and 20, Russian forces continued offensive operations east of Siversk and southeast of it, but were unable to advance further. They also attacked Chasivoyarivska, but this was not confirmed.

Recently, the occupiers have managed to advance into Toretsk. There are videos published on January 18 and 20 indicating that Russian forces have taken control of the southern and northern parts of Toretsk respectively. There was also a report from a Russian milblogger on January 20 about the capture of a spoil tip on the northwestern outskirts of Toretsk. However, the Institute for the Study of War found no confirmation of these reports. Russian forces continue to launch rocket strikes on Toretsk from various directions - to the north of Toretsk near Krymsky and Dilyivka, to the northeast of Toretsk near Ozaryanivka, and to the southwest of Toretsk near Shcherbynivka on January 19 and 20.

The enemy also managed to advance in the Pokrovsk direction. According to videos from January 19, Russian forces took over Mine No. 2 Pokrovsk, north of Kotelny (west of Pokrovsk), and southern Kotelny. Russian forces also conducted offensive actions near Pokrovsk - to the northeast of it near Vodyany Druhy, Zeleny Polya, Oleksandropol, to the east of Pokrovsk near Myrolyubivka, Yelyzavetivka, Myrnograd, Promin, to the southeast of Pokrovsk near Lysivka, to the south of Pokrovsk near Shevchenka, to the southwest of Pokrovsk in the area of Nadiivka, Zvirivyy, Udnachny, Uspenivka, Novotroitsky, Novoandriivka, and to the west of Pokrovsk near Kotelny on January 19 and 20.

The occupiers advanced in the Kurakhiv direction. Videos published on January 19 and 20 indicate that Russian forces recently advanced to the south of Petropavlivka (northwest of Kurakhove) and to the southeast of Konstantinopol (west of Kurakhove).

The situation in Kursk region

On January 20, the occupiers continued their offensive on Ukrainian positions in the Kursk region, but were unable to advance further. There are reports from Russian milbloggers about the attack of Russian forces to the northwest of Sudzhy, in the area of Nikolsky and towards Viktorivka from Novoiivanka, as well as to the south of Sudzhy, in the area of Kurilovka.

The situation in Kharkiv region

The Russian army continued to carry out limited offensive operations to the northeast of the city of Kharkiv, in the Vovchansk province on January 19 and 20, but without success.

The situation in Luhansk region

On January 20, Russian forces continued their offensive in the Kupiansk direction, but were unable to advance further. Videos indicated that Russian forces took control of northern Dvorichna (northeast of Kupiansk), but this information was not confirmed by analysts from the Institute for the Study of War. There are also reports of the continuation of the offensive by Russian forces in the Borovyi direction, but without progress.

On January 20, the Russian army continued its offensive operations in the Lyman direction, but without success. According to reports from Russian milbloggers, Russian forces captured heights north of Ivanivka (northeast of Lyman) and advanced into fields north and east of Terniv (northeast of Lyman), but this information was not confirmed by the Institute for the Study of War.

The situation in the south

The occupiers continue offensive operations northwest of Robotyne, in the area of Novoandriivka on January 19 and 20, but were unable to advance further.

Russian forces also attacked in the Dnipro direction, particularly in the area of Kizak island (northeast of Kherson), but without result.

The 1063rd day of large-scale war in Ukraine is underway. Over the past day, there have been 151 combat clashes. The enemy carried out three rocket strikes and 46 airstrikes, using five rockets and 71 KABs, 1065 kamikaze drone strikes, and over 4000 shellings of our troops' positions and populated areas.
