According to TSN.ua: On February 1, 2023, at approximately 11:40 AM, Russian forces launched a drone strike against a medical facility in Zaporizhzhia. The attack damaged a maternity hospital building, causing a fire on one of its floors that was subsequently extinguished. The total number of people injured in this incident has risen to six.
Casualties and Investigation
Among the injured were two women who were undergoing medical examinations at the time of the hostile strike. The Zaporizhzhia Regional Prosecutor's Office has already initiated criminal proceedings for the commission of a war crime, under Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine's office in the Zaporizhzhia region. This attack is part of a documented pattern of assaults on civilian infrastructure in Ukraine since the full-scale invasion began.
Zaporizhzhia Mayor Ivan Fedorov stated: 'The number of injured has increased to six people. All are receiving the necessary assistance.'
