Rail Infrastructure Damaged in Russian Attack

According to TSN.ua: A large-scale Russian attack has caused significant damage to railway infrastructure, resulting in widespread train delays and route alterations. The disruption is affecting travel in the Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, and Khmelnytskyi regions. This incident is part of a broader pattern of attacks on Ukraine's civilian transport networks since the full-scale invasion began in 2022. Specifically, trains #6249 and #6250 have been rerouted, and services #6480 and #6481 have been temporarily canceled for March 7th.

Significant delays are impacting several other trains. Train #6502 is delayed by over an hour at the Zviahel station, while train #6480 is facing a delay exceeding two hours. Additionally, train #6005 is running 50 minutes behind schedule in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

Altered Train Routes

The following route changes are now in effect:

  • Train #6249 will run from Koziatyn-1 to Mykhailenky (instead of the original Koziatyn-1 to Shepetivka route).
  • Train #6250 will operate from Mykhailenky to Koziatyn-1 (instead of Shepetivka to Koziatyn-1).
  • Services #6480 (Olevsk – Korosten) and #6481 (Korosten – Olevsk) are temporarily suspended.

The situation remains fluid, and further updates are anticipated.

This disruption underscores the severe impact of military actions on Ukraine's civilian infrastructure, creating major inconveniences for passengers.

The schedule changes are likely to affect the travel plans of many passengers and could also hinder economic activity in the regions impacted by the attacks. Timely updates on routes and schedules will be crucial for maintaining passenger safety and minimizing travel disruptions.
