Attacks on Educational Facilities and Infrastructure

According to TSN.ua: On March 19, Russian drones struck a lyceum in the village of Avdiivka, Chernihiv region, causing severe damage. According to Vyacheslav Chaus, head of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration,

“late in the evening, the Russians destroyed the Avdiivka Lyceum in the Ponornytsia community with three 'Geran' drones. The facility is heavily damaged.”
School buses were also damaged in the attack.

On the same day, March 19, Russian forces targeted infrastructure in Zaporizhzhia, leaving over 38,000 residential customers without power. The assault on Zaporizhzhia was part of a large-scale nighttime campaign in which Russian forces launched 133 drone strikes across Ukraine.

Consequences of Attacks on Civilian Targets

Earlier, on March 13, an enemy drone struck the center of Novhorod-Siverskyi, damaging a library and destroying 24,000 books. As of January 1, 2026, the library held 25,000 copies, according to director Tetiana Kostiukova.

In Odesa, a Russian attack damaged 12 residential buildings, and two injured individuals were taken to the hospital. These events highlight the ongoing assaults on civilian infrastructure in Ukraine, leading to severe consequences for the population and essential services.

The strikes on civilian sites, including schools and homes, reflect an escalation in the conflict and a direct impact on daily life. Beyond infrastructure damage, these attacks fuel a humanitarian crisis, as affected people require immediate aid and support. They are part of Russia's broader military strategy against Ukraine, demanding increased attention from the international community.
