Russian hackers seized Ukrainian television channels.
Ukrainians reported that Russian propaganda was broadcast on the channels. This information appeared on the evening of December 5th. According to viewer reports, snippets featuring Ukrainian cemeteries and the activities of the TCС in the streets were shown. A video discrediting President Volodymyr Zelensky was also disseminated. Propaganda materials were broadcast on various channels, so it is likely that the problem lay with the provider.
Viewers also pointed to a possible hacker attack on the television channels. The provider 'Triolan' reported that it would resolve the issue by 21:00.
'Unfortunately, unauthorized interference occurred on our network, which affected the operation of cable television. We are actively working to resolve the issue and are doing everything possible to restore the service as soon as possible,' the company stated.
'Suspilne' also reported on the attack, but there is currently no other official information.
Cyber specialists from Ukraine marked the 11th anniversary of the Revolution of Dignity by publishing greetings on Russian websites of businesses located in occupied territories. In total, 19 Russian companies in Crimea and occupied regions were affected by cyberattacks.
Images of a broken chain symbolizing freedom appeared on the pages of these websites - a value for which Ukrainians stood on Maidan in November 2013.
