Attack on Railway Infrastructure in Northern Ukraine
According to TSN.ua: On March 18, 2023, Russian forces targeted a railway in the Chernihiv region, leaving two crew members wounded. The locomotive driver and his assistant sustained injuries during the strike and are now receiving medical care, according to Ukraine's Ministry of Communities and Territories Development.
The attack was carried out using a Russian unmanned aerial vehicle that directly hit a diesel locomotive. In a separate incident in the Kharkiv region, a drone struck a commuter train, also injuring the driver and assistant. Additionally, a station in the Kryvyi Rih district came under fire, damaging another locomotive. These events highlight the ongoing hostilities and their severe impact on Ukraine's railway infrastructure and the safety of its workers.
