Zelensky on the attack on Chernobyl: the strike was deliberately aimed at the Chernobyl NPP.
According to inkorr.com: President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky commented on the attack on the power substation in Slavutych. This attack led to a prolonged inspection of the facilities at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, and Zelensky noted that the purpose of this attack was to halt the operation of the Chernobyl NPP.
“The Russians used more than 20 drones with the aim of damaging Chernobyl, including the new shelter and the storage for spent nuclear fuel. This was a strike with a specific purpose, aimed at complicating the protection of the facility,” explained the president.
As a result of the Russian attack, important facilities in the Chernobyl zone were damaged, highlighting the serious consequences of the war for infrastructure and the environment.
This situation once again emphasizes the risks that Ukraine faces as a result of armed conflicts and the importance of protecting key infrastructure facilities. The attack on the Chernobyl NPP is a reminder of the need to enhance security at such sensitive facilities, especially in the context of the ongoing war.
