Criticizing Europe and reproaching Ukraine: The Pope made another scandalous statement.
Pope Francis has once again surprised the world with his words - he stated that it is immoral to proclaim peace while simultaneously arming oneself.
I am concerned that calls for peace are being silenced and ignored. There is hypocrisy in this: we talk about peace but continue to produce weapons,' the Pope said.
At first, one might think he was referring to Russia and its aggressive policies. But later, Francis noted that he was talking about Europe, which provides weapons to Ukraine.
Weapons manufacturing plants make enormous profits. We organize conferences and negotiations, but continue to produce weapons for killing,' commented the Pope.
He also stated that he observes a general tendency of self-destruction through war.
We urgently need a peace treaty, but when it comes to peace, postponements keep occurring,' the Pope noted.
The Pope expressed concern over sending young Ukrainians to the front: 'We have an excessive number of young men, while there are very many in Russia.'
He also stated that he does not know how this problem arises but believes that more 'personal ethics' is needed. It is worth noting that Francis mentioned 'personal ethics' shortly after President Volodymyr Zelensky used profanity against Putin over his proposal to engage in a 'technological duel with an 'Oreshnik'.
During an address to the congregation, Francis again reminded of the need for a Christmas truce in Ukraine: 'Ukraine continues to suffer from shelling that destroys schools, hospitals, and temples. Let us stop the fire and embrace the Christmas joy! Let us pray for a truce to take place on Christmas at all fronts, in the Holy Land, in Ukraine, in the Middle East, and around the world.'
Earlier, Pope Francis already prayed for Ukrainians and Russians and called for their agreement.
A few days ago, Epifaniy and the Pope met in the Vatican and exchanged gifts.
Additionally, Pope Francis received a new electric Cabriolet G-Class from the CEO of Mercedes-Benz.
It should be noted that on October 24, Pope Francis published his fourth encyclical titled 'Dilexit Nos', the main theme of which is human and divine love for the Heart of Jesus Christ.
Moreover, Pope Francis stated that the Ukrainian law prohibiting the activities of religious organizations linked to Russia restricts people's right to pray 'in their own church.'
