Shooting of Ukrainian soldiers in Kursk: parents recognized their son on video.

On October 10, 2024, a video appeared online showing the execution of 9 Ukrainian prisoners of war. The parents of one of them recognized their son by his underwear and socks. This was reported by «Suspilne».

On October 10, the execution of nine Ukrainian servicemen was reported by Deep State analysts. It was in this frame that the mother, Oksana Holubenko, along with her husband, saw their son Ruslan; they recognized him by his underwear and socks. 

The mother recognized her son in the frame from the video by his underwear and socks.

«By the underwear that I bought him for the sea. And I also knew information that he had a shot wound on his shoulder, and it can be seen there», – the Ukrainian soldier's mother said. 

And already on October 16, the parents received a message that their son had disappeared near the village of Tolstyy Lug in the Kursk region.

«Mommy, I'm going to break through now, go ahead». This is his last voice message. I wrote to him: «May God protect», but he didn’t respond anymore», – the mother said.

Who was Ruslan Holubenko?

Ruslan Holubenko was a serviceman of the First Separate Tank Siversk Brigade with the call sign «Rukha». He was a reconnaissance section commander and worked with drones. In 2021, he signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During the full-scale invasion, he participated in the defense of Chernihiv and later fought in eastern Ukraine. 

Russians broke through Ukrainian defense

It should be reminded that Russians broke through Ukrainian defense in one of the settlements in the Kursk region, went behind the lines, and engaged in combat with a group of drone operators. As a result of the fierce battle, Ukrainian soldiers were killed. This was stated by the mayor of Henichesk, volunteer of the 24th Separate Assault Battalion «Aidar» Stanislav Bunyatov Osman, commenting on information that the drone pilots allegedly surrendered. Bunyatov emphasized that the DeepState project published inaccurate information about this incident. The pilots were killed in battle, not taken prisoner.

Violation of the Geneva Convention

Amid reports of another potential execution of Ukrainian soldiers, Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets sent letters to the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross, noting that such actions violate the Geneva Convention.

Earlier it became known that the occupiers once again violated the rules and customs of warfare by shooting nine Ukrainian soldiers in Kursk.

Also, the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets stated that he approached the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) regarding the likely execution of 16 Ukrainian soldiers in captivity on the Pokrovsky direction. 

By the way, the independent UN international commission for investigating violations in Ukraine found new evidence of Russian torture of Ukrainian civilians and prisoners of war in the occupied territories of Ukraine and in Russia.
