The Minister of Defense of Ukraine will meet with representatives of the EU
The Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, will participate in an informal meeting of defense leaders from European Union countries. The meeting will take place on April 2 in Warsaw.
According to sources from Suspilne, the meeting will discuss two main topics - assistance to Ukraine and the 'White Paper' on European defense matters.
"EU member states have already promised to provide Ukraine with significant support, but of course, we know that much more is needed. And as we focus on ammunition, we know that Ukraine needs two million large-caliber ammunition from us. This is approximately equivalent to a sum of five billion euros by 2025," notes an unnamed European official.
Furthermore, during the meeting, the defense ministers will hold a session dedicated to the 'White Paper' and the 'Rearmament of Europe' plan.
Let us remind you that on March 19, 2025, the European Commission and the High Representative of the EU, Kaja Kallas, presented the 'White Paper on European Defense - Readiness 2030' in Brussels.
Earlier, on March 4, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, presented the ReArm Europe plan aimed at mobilizing nearly 800 billion euros to strengthen European defense.
