Patriot deliveries to Ukraine have been delayed due to the shutdown in the USA: details.
According to inkorr.com: The German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius stated that the delay in transferring additional Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine is related to the shutdown in the USA. He made this announcement during a joint press conference in Berlin with other defense ministers.
He also noted that Russia is actively increasing its capabilities in the area of aerial attacks, leading to an increase in the number of hostile attacks.
Boris Pistorius emphasized that the Ukrainian air defense is finding it increasingly difficult to intercept the vast number of drones and cruise missiles due to technological advancements and a decrease in interception rates.
Ending the prolonged shutdown in the USA
US President Donald Trump signed a bill for government funding, officially ending the longest shutdown in the country's history. It lasted a record 43 days.
Ukraine has already received three new Patriot missile systems from Germany, and negotiations for providing a fourth one are ongoing. Overall, Berlin is ready to hand over five such systems to Ukraine.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed receiving additional 'Patriot' systems and expressed gratitude to Germany for its support, emphasizing the importance of further strengthening air defense.
The end of the shutdown in the USA has reduced delays in the transfer of military aid to Ukraine. At the same time, the intensification of Russian attacks poses a threat to the security of Ukrainian airspace, making further support from Western partners even more critically important.
