Drone attack on Syzran: hit on oil refinery and power outages

According to ТСН: The city of Syzran in the Samara region of Russia became a target for drone attacks on the evening of December 27.

Russian Telegram channels report this based on testimonies from local residents. Explosions were heard even before midnight on December 28, and loud noises were coming from the central and southern parts of the city. Air raid sirens were also activated in the city.

Disruptions in air travel

The Kurumoch airport, also located in the Samara region, implemented restrictions, and the airport temporarily suspended the acceptance and departure of flights.

Infrastructure damage

Videos from the scene have already appeared on social media, where hits were presumably captured. According to preliminary information, the strike may have targeted an electrical substation. After that, some residents of Syzran reported power outages and heating interruptions in their homes.

There are also reports of possible damage to the local oil refinery, but the official authorities of the Russian Federation have not yet confirmed this information.

It is worth noting that it was recently reported that units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the facilities of the oil refinery 'Slavneft-YANOS' in the Yaroslavl region of the Russian Federation.

It is known that from August to the end of November of this year, Ukraine successfully carried out 77 attacks on Russian oil refineries, as well as on loading terminals, pipelines, and tankers.

The information about the attacks on Syzran indicates the continuation of a tense military situation in the region, impacting the livelihoods of local residents and infrastructure. These events demonstrate the increasing level of tension in the ongoing conflict, and the further actions of the parties may affect the development of the situation in the region.
