Situation in Pokrovsk

According to ТСН: Commander of the Airborne Assault Forces Oleg Apostol spoke about the defense of Pokrovsk. In his interview, he noted that the situation in the region is complicated, but Ukrainian forces continue to hold the city.

"At this moment, Pokrovsk holds on. There are difficult moments, logistical issues — the enemy is countering. But no one says that it is easy for us there, because this is war. The enemy also creates some issues, threats. Right now, the 76th division (of the Russian army — ed.) will be a threat. But we hold on and will do our best to keep Pokrovsk as long as possible. Because it is important for us," he noted.

Apostol also emphasized the importance of the successful conduct of the Dobropillia operation, which did not allow the enemy to cut off Pokrovsk and the entire Donbas.

"But note, if it weren't for the Dobropillia operation, and we had gone to Pokrovsk, we would have been cut off: both Donbas would have been cut off, and Pokrovsk would have been cut off. Therefore, I consider these decisions very correct," he summed up.

Oleg Apostol also noted that the Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully neutralized the Russian plans to cut off the entire Donetsk region during the offensive in the Dobropillia direction.

Thus, the defense of Pokrovsk remains under the control of the Ukrainian armed forces, despite the difficult circumstances. Successes in conducting operations in this region play an important role in stabilizing the front and ensuring the security of the eastern territories of Ukraine.
