The SBU exposed a commander of one of the special operations forces units working for Russia

A commander of one of the SSO units provided information to the Russians about the movement of Ukrainian defenders, their weapons, and targets.

Military counterintelligence and investigators from the Security Service detained a Russian military intelligence agent. The offender turned out to be a lieutenant colonel, commander of one of the special operations forces units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who was recruited by the occupiers even before the full-scale war began.

According to the SBU, in the spring of 2024, the military was remotely 'activated' by a staff member of the Russian Main Intelligence Directorate and assigned the task: to relay to the Russians the plans of combat operations of the Defense Forces in the enemy's rear.

'The aggressor was most interested in intelligence data on the sabotage and reconnaissance raids of Ukrainian special forces behind the front line in the Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Crimean directions. To carry out the enemy's task, the 'mole' used his official position, allowing him to obtain information about planned routes for the movement of Defense Forces warriors, their weapons, and 'targets.' The occupiers planned to use this information to eliminate Ukrainian special forces on the front line or beyond – in the temporarily occupied territory in southern Ukraine,' the statement reads.
