Cancellation of 1800 flights in the USA: which airports are affected by the restrictions.
Threat of flight cancellations in the USA
According to inkorr.com: U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy reported that if the government does not find a compromise and avoid a shutdown, 10% of flights at the country's 40 largest airports may be canceled. This will affect 30 of the busiest airports, including New York, Washington, Chicago, Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Dallas. This decision is expected to lead to the cancellation of 1800 flights and nearly 268,000 seats on planes.
If the air traffic situation does not stabilize, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) warns that even stricter flight restrictions may appear after Friday.
Airlines, including the group Airlines for America, are working with the government to minimize the impact of these restrictions on passengers and freight carriers. The country is currently facing a real threat of delays in air travel due to a shortage of air traffic controllers and technical specialists who are left without pay and cannot support their families.
Tension in the aviation industry
Sean Duffy again emphasized the risk of canceling 10% of flights at the 40 largest airports in the USA if the government does not reach an agreement on continuing operations. The situation in civil aviation remains tense, and the industry is actively seeking solutions to this problem.
This threat of flight cancellations could have serious consequences for millions of passengers planning trips, as well as for businesses that rely on regular air transport. Given the current challenges, it is important for all parties, including the government and airlines, to find ways to maintain stability in the aviation infrastructure.
